"No, not so much the lack of interest, but a lack of time. He added that many local theaters have been struggling, and not just due to the current economic times."So many theaters are going belly-up, not just from the economy but the lack of interest from the younger generation." Cowell paused a moment. This show was notable for another reason as well: It was during this show that Cowell met his wife, Rosann."We met 35 years ago, and we just celebrated our 33rd anniversary back in November," he said.Cowell said he acts or directs regularly, doing anywhere from one to three shows a year at area theaters, including Independence Community Theatre, Brecksville Little Theatre, the Aurora Community Theatre and the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre. In college, he majored in speech, minored in English and went back to obtain a master's degree in theater.Cowell said his first foray into community theater was "The Man Who Came to Dinner" at the former Maple Heights Little Theatre.
